Hip Hop: ages 5-8 or 9-13 – This camp is a full week of all styles of hip hop. You’ll perfect your hip hop, breaking and funk skills. You’ll also learn two routines that you’ll perform at the end of the week. The camp includes a shirt also.
Jungle Book, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast or Alice in Wonderland workshops – We’ve got quite the variety of camps for each of these productions. You can enroll in our ensemble or lead camps, as well as corps & principals workshop. Each workshop is taught by the director of the production. Depending on the workshop that you sign up for, you’ll learn all the efforts that make up putting on a Broadway production like this.
Dance Intensives: These camps are for our students who are usually at Junior and Senior levels. They’ll spend a week completely submerged in the dance style and focus on perfecting their technique for the coming year or to prepare for tryouts for the coming year.
MV Dance is going to be a busy place this summer and we hope that you’ll be hanging out with us. To learn more about our summer workshops and what’s going on at MV Dance, visit our website or give us a call at (949) 382-1276.

If you’re looking for a fun summer activity for your children, consider a hip hop dancing class. Dancing is a great way for children to release energy and gain confidence in their natural talents. Learn more about benefits of hip hop dancing with this video.
One of the advantages of teaching dance to children is that they are eager to learn and soak up knowledge. Hip hop is a larger genre of dance that incorporates many forms and can take years to master. If your child enjoys hip hop dance lessons, this form of expression could quickly become a passion. Hip hop dancing also teaches discipline and offers a fun form of exercise.
Keep your children active and entertained by signing them up for hip hop dance lessons. If you live in the Orange County area, call MV Dance & Performing Arts today at (949) 382-1276.

As the “Celebrate, 20 Years in the Making” dance recital is slowly approaching, there’s several things you can do to improve his or her performance and calm their nerves. Use these tips to help your child perform her very best at an upcoming recital:
- Encouragement: As your child prepares for a dance performance or competition, it’s essential to provide constant encouragement. Whether during dance practice or at home, give your child support to keep trying and dancing her best. Speak with your child’s dance instructor to see if there is any area in which your child needs additional practice and encouragement.
- Continual Support: Your young dancer needs encouragement and support not only right before a competition, but also throughout the weeks and months of practice. Don’t wait until right before a big performance to attend one of your child’s practices. Show your child that you’re proud of her by staying for one or two dance practices each month or volunteering at summer camps offered by the dance studio. As a parent, you know that children love to share what they’ve learned, so ask your daughter questions about new moves or request a mini-performance at home.
- Healthy Diet: In addition to emotional support, your child needs physical support in the days and weeks leading up to a performance. Make sure your child is receiving a proper amount of nutrition for her rigorous dancing routine. Create a dancing diet plan that incorporates your child’s favorite foods along with nutritious, energizing foods rich in protein, such as lean meats and low-fat dairy products.
- Adequate Sleep: While your child may be excited the night before her big dance performance, make sure she goes to bed on time. Your daughter doesn’t need fatigue to affect her nerves and performance the next day. If your child can’t sleep because she’s nervous, reassure her with additional encouragement.
To make every effort to prepare your child for her next dance performance, feel free to speak with the friendly dance instructors at MV Dance & Performing Arts. Visit our Orange County dance studio or call us at (949) 382-1276 if you have questions or have yet to enroll your child.
